Fan Content Guidelines
Last updated: 09/25/23
Archetype Entertainment appreciates the creative expression of our community. We value and hope to inspire the community’s interest in creating non-commercial content focused assets from our game, such as: still images, sounds, video footage, music, and more that celebrate your inspiration from within the story we create.
Your enthusiasm for our brand, represented by the production and sharing of Fan Content (i.e., your creative work), makes this business fun and rewarding. We want to take this opportunity to encourage you to keep doing it. We ask that you please be respectful of the guidelines below.
These guidelines may change at any time without prior notice to you. It's important to understand that the guidelines do not constitute permission to use any of Archetype Entertainment ‘s or Hasbro’s intellectual property.
EXODUS Artwork
To ensure that everyone's rights are respected, please only share content that meets the following criteria:
-
It is not offensive, obscene, defamatory, or indecent
-
It is not confidential or proprietary
-
It does not infringe on any third-party rights
By submitting content, you are granting Archetype Entertainment and Hasbro all the necessary licenses to use your content for any purpose. If we choose to feature it on our site, or social channels, you also give Archetype Entertainment the right to publish or share your EXODUS(TM) website username with your artwork.
EXODUS Video and Streaming
We fully support our fans' ability to create videos featuring gameplay from EXODUS and upload them to third-party sharing platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. If a third-party video-sharing site (like YouTube) allows for personal monetization, we request that you, the player, create at least 25% of the content from within the video. If the majority of the video (over 75%) was created by us, one of our partners, or another creator other than yourself, we
reserve the right to issue takedown notices that will be sent to the platform’s IP enforcement to request removal of the content.
Fan-created video content may include custom commentary, animations, graphics, or gameplay. However, please refrain from uploading EXODUS trailers or cutscenes that contain advertisements, watermarks, logos, or borders that use 20% of the screen or take 20% of the runtime. We encourage content creators to use our assets to produce their own unique content
rather than directly re-uploading our content, or the content of our partners, to their channels for personal gain.
Streaming gameplay is another way to share community-created EXODUS content. Platforms like Twitch, YouTube, Tik Tok, and Facebook permit players to monetize content through subscriptions or donations. For further details, please refer to the terms of use of your preferred streaming service.
NOTE: EXODUS may also include the use of licensed music from a 3rd party licensor. In such cases, that content may be subject to IP enforcement takedowns from the 3rd party music recording label, publisher, artist, or all of those mentioned above - which is out of our control. If you are concerned about licensed music in one of your live streams or videos, please take the necessary precautions before you publish a video or go live with it on a streaming platform.
“EXODUS” Branding
As we’ve said, we're happy to see you making cool stuff with our game for your communities! Following these simple guidelines, you can create and share your non-commercial content without problems. If this is your unofficial fan creative work, please include this notice, “This is an unofficial fan produced creative work not approved/endorsed by Archetype Entertainment.” Please place this notice in a reasonable spot. Please be sure you're not making money from licensed Archetype Entertainment owned characters, images, footage, or other Archetype Entertainment IP assets; and please don't put the names of any Archetype Entertainment products (like EXODUS) or game-associated assets on it to ensure it is clearly “unofficial”. Also, we ask that your fan produced content should stand on its own – it should not be incorporated into a third-party game or product.
Although we would prefer not to have to issue takedown notices, we will take action in instances where infringement may jeopardize our ability to safeguard our brands.
EXODUS Cosplay
We understand that sharing costumes and props between Cosplayers is common among artists. However, the distribution of physical items using online platforms (such as Etsy, eBay, or Amazon) is not authorized without expressed permission from Archetype Entertainment. We also reserve the right to terminate permission for any entity that produces products using the EXODUS IP that involves child or slave labor, dangerous materials, or dangerous construction.
If you wish to obtain a license to create and sell Cosplay items, please get in touch with us by sending an email inquiry to: community@archetype-entertainment.com)
